Makes my heart happy to see walkers and volunteers really enjoying time together!
Huge shout out for our volunteer Physical Therapist! Amy has been helping with assessments in the East Cooper area.
"I get alot of satisfaction from my time with my walkers. It's really nice after a stressful day at work to take a half hour or so and slow down for a stroll with Helen or Philip. It takes such little effort from us to go for a walk and I can tell it makes a big difference to them. I'm really glad to be involved." Volunteer since 12/2022
"It is a blessing for Lynn to walk with my mom. It really makes her day and she looks forward to it."
Shelia, House of Aleah's.
From Lynn, "Thanks Shelia, I always love walking into your shop filled with beautiful things and it is such a pleasure to spend time with your mom, She's a treasure!
I love getting out in the community and meeting the most wonderful people! Lynn
Let’s Walk connects trained volunteers with people who need or want someone to walk with them.
Lynn McCollum-Lasher, PT developed the service after working as a homecare Physical Therapist for 25 years. After witnessing many re-admissions due to a lack of activity, Lynn was inspired to create a service to encourage people to maintain their mobility. The service is free and available to anyone who qualifies.
Let's Walk is currently available in the greater Charleston, SC area. Please let me know if you are interested in having this opportunity near you.
